I’m a dedicated visual communicator, active community volunteer, wife, and mother of two (or three if you count my dog). I’ve owned Harvey Graphic Design since 2003, which allows me to create targeted messages for schools, non-profits, and small businesses using fresh, clear designs and targeted messaging. I recently served as the communications coordinator for historic St. John’s Church in Savannah promoting the church and its historic Green-Meldrim House. Prior to that, I worked as an in-house designer in the Marketing and Communications Department of Armstrong State University (now Georgia Southern University), also in Savannah, Ga. I have an additional seven years of non-profit visual marketing experience during my time at the Association for Career and Technical Education and the Data Interchange Standards Association, both in Alexandria, Va.
A third-generation native of Philadelphia (Go Phillies!), I loved to put on plays, paint, draw, and take photos as a sassy tyke. As an avid reader, I've worked my way through Agatha Christie’s 66 detective novels at least twice. I earned a B.S.Ed. in Art from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. After college, I quickly discovered that classroom teachers are superheroes and that I was better suited for a calmer office environment. I took classes in print production and web design to round out my fine arts training.
I believe in community involvement and actively take part in my church, children’s schools, and local organizations. I served for four years as secretary of Trinity’s UMW. I was a governing board member of Tybee Island Maritime Academy and co-chaired their major fundraiser The Tybee Tour of Homes for two years.
When I’m not working or volunteering, I’m exploring the South in search of the best biscuits with my husband and two sons (who are in search of the best BBQ). I love to travel, take long walks with my dog whom we affectionately refer to as “the mega-Beagle”, and drink comically large mugs of hot tea … preferably PG Tips but Typhoo will do in a pinch.
